I Don’t Have a Maid

There’s a time

when reality hits

It shows me

that though I live

in two worlds

real and literary

I must take care

of the real

take care of and clean my house

eat with my husband and do the dishes

work my full time job

and also write my brains out

I wish I could just write and write and write

to the exclusion of everything else

but alas doing that

is not any fun when stress comes

I don’t like living in a mess

I guess I do have to live in reality

I don’t have a maid but I will survive

About stellarstanton

I am an optimistic, positive person who is a three year cancer survivor. Since that time I have learned that getting a cancer diagnosis does not mean getting a death sentence. I like to share my hope with others and continue to encourage them - no matter who they are or what they need encouragement for. I write poems and stories (am also a co-author on the blog http://stgorysquared.wordpress.com) and generally keep things light. Thank you for reading this blog, and thank you to WordPress!

I like this post today . It’s good to touch base with reality .
In this sea of confusion called life
    without an anchor
    we just drift
    without purpose
what is there worth dreaming ?
