The Sunshine Factor

where sunshine is a way of life

After Sunrise

English: Sunrise through morning mist

I woke up without the alarm

and sat down at my computer in the study.

Outside my window,

everything had taken on a pinkish hue.

Even the grass looked different.

There, behind the barren trees

wide streaks of pink next to wide streaks of blue

laced their way across the morning sky.

Now and then as I’ve been writing,

dogs and their owners have walked past and gotten exercise

on the sidewalk below.

Morning has broken

and reminds me that -yay- here is another great day!

It is a precious gift

to be up this early and not miss out on the beauty

all around me.

I am an optimistic, positive person who is a seven year cancer survivor. Since that time I have learned that getting a cancer diagnosis does not always mean an automatic death sentence. I like to share my hope with others and continue to encourage them - no matter who they are or what they need encouragement for. I write poems, prayers, articles, and stories. Recently the premiere issue of my online magazine, http://www.innersunshine.net launched. Thank you for visiting!
