The Sunshine Factor

where sunshine is a way of life

Very early morning,

I call in sick to work again

eat a small breakfast

take a shower

and lay back down in the living room

so as to not wake up my husband.

The lights from the metropolis south of here

warm up the sky

so it’s not perfectly dark out.

The trees  outside my window

are like unruly soldiers

some standing straight

some leaning as if elderly.

Winds light and variable

The new day begins,

and I shall go to the doctor.

I am an optimistic, positive person who is a seven year cancer survivor. Since that time I have learned that getting a cancer diagnosis does not always mean an automatic death sentence. I like to share my hope with others and continue to encourage them - no matter who they are or what they need encouragement for. I write poems, prayers, articles, and stories. Recently the premiere issue of my online magazine, launched. Thank you for visiting!

  1. Sorry you aren’t feeling well again today. Hope it’s not serious and that you will feel better tomorrow. See you soon.
