Day 23 Antiperfectionism Series

With excess pride comes wanting to be perfect.

I think to have pride in normal proportions is healthy ~ but once pride gains a major foothold in someone’s life, their quest for perfection is even more frantic.  If the person is overly prideful, most likely then she thinks that to be perfect would be able to confirm her worth (and verify her stories about her gains and accomplishments).

Careful, now, don’t let your pride be on the loose

admiration from others is just a noose.

You can have a lovely life with lots of gain

if only you can escape the prideful pain.

I am an optimistic, positive person who is a seven year cancer survivor. Since that time I have learned that getting a cancer diagnosis does not always mean an automatic death sentence. I like to share my hope with others and continue to encourage them - no matter who they are or what they need encouragement for. I write poems, prayers, articles, and stories. Recently the premiere issue of my online magazine, http://www.innersunshine.net launched. Thank you for visiting!
