I will borrow the phrasing from the writer of Ecclesiastes…it is now time to mark my blog AND my magazine settings as “Private”, so that I may make some pretty big changes. I am sure everything will be ready before the April issue, so I hope you will stay tuned!
In the meantime, you and I can stay connected if you visit my Facebook Stanton Sunshine page: http://facebook.com/stantonsunshine
|Hope to see you soon!|
Top of the midday to you all! I am glad to finally announce that the new issue for my magazine, http://stantonsunshine.net, has been published.
This month I am introducing a new category, Humor. Let me know if you like it, and perhaps maybe you could consider contributing your own humor piece to the cause? 🙂 I also put a new spin on the picture gallery in the bottom right corner of every page except the home page: I am asking for comments on which pics really tickle your fancy.
You will have to excuse both the tardiness and the possible inefficacies of the latest issue. Things were slow moving around my home office, kind of like how the frigid weather around here is taking its good old sweet time in leaving Minnesota. As far as mistakes, that is something I will blame on the gremlins in my computer, who are in cahoots with the leprechauns on my desk (they are nice leprechauns, but apparently they still need to have their fun!). 🙂
The good news is, for those of you who read a recent post http://thesunshinefactor.net/Try-try-again, I am still on my new challenge, that of doing my tasks and chores before work, when I am the freshest. In that is a time for writing, and I am enjoying the freedom of getting my writing needs met everyday! 🙂
As always, I will try to write more on this blog during the month, and I also look forward to you sending me your latest artwork or writings – I will consider them for future issues of the magazine. Just write me at firstname.lastname@example.org or read the Submission Guidelines over at Stanton Sunshine.
It’s that time of month where Debb is putting finishing touches on the next magazine issue. Currently we are waiting for submission in all categories (March birthdays, fiction or poetry, recipes, to name a few). Claire also is waiting for letters to answer for her column. 🙂
I think you get the idea now. 🙂 Please contact me soon at email@example.com.
Debb (and Claire)
Are you Irish? Do you enjoy Irish food? If you answered “yes” to either or both questions, then www.stantonsunshine.net is looking for you!
The Recipes section of the magazine is going to have a special Irish recipe section for the month of March. Whether you have a blog or not, whether you cook a favorite Irish recipe yourself or have one that’s excellent that’s been passed down through the ages in your family, Debb is hoping you will send it to her. Please state where your recipe came from (your Aunt Eileen, your mother, your Uncle Sean?).
I’m hoping to get SWAMPED with your replies. Let’s make this recipe section B I G ! In fact, it’s not too early to send me a recipe today. (Use the submission form in the magazine or write to firstname.lastname@example.org.) Thanks!
I’m feeling better now and getting excited about February’s issue. But I need you…I’m throwing out an “SOS” here: looking for photos, artwork, stories, poems, or recipes. In fact, Claire (the Ask Claire lady) is wondering why her mailbox hasn’t seen much action…do you have a general question she could answer for you? 🙂
I’m sure you’ve heard me say this before, but it’s worth repeating: don’t be shy. Do not be so critical of your work or talent that you keep it to yourself. I’ve been told that it’s worth it to publish a post, even if it would help just one person who needs to see or feel the message you are conveying. Just think… if the reaching just one person happens from a lot of contributors, the more people we can reach…and love…and help…and bring sunshine to.
In the community spirit,
Hello! Since a lot of you out there in Sunshine Factor country like quotes like I do, I have a new series for us! These will be quotes of a certain kind: directly from the pages of Stanton Sunshine.
The series will help us do the countdown till January 4th – SS Day! (Stanton Sunshine Launch Day) 🙂
Stay with me!
Ha ha — I am not referring to the Peeps marshmallow candies, although I am in the “love them” camp. Rather, I am talking about having people in your life that have your back.
The magazine I have created takes a lot of work, but I am not complaining…it’s time dedicated to something I love very much — writing! I have an editor for this project, and she is the best! She gently reigns me in when I forget to expound on something, so that the reader can fully understand me. She tactfully urges me to refrain from taking on too much, which is very easy for me to do. In fact, dear editor, please raise your Starbucks and take a bow. Love you lots! 🙂
In every life there is a person or people giving support, understanding, and love. (If you think you don’t have someone like that, then know that I am on your side!) Without them we would be scared to chase our dreams or try something new. Without them we wouldn’t realize that we have value. I could go on and on….and on and on….you know me — unless I have writer’s block, I tend to be wordy! 🙂
I have a little assignment for each of you.
1. Thank your peeps today for being there for you, and let them know of your appreciation.
2. Report back to this blog — fill us in how your person or people make a difference in your life!
